I read The Hacker News on September 29, 2026, and I checked a Krebs on Security note from September 28 before I wrote this.
The Dutch confirmation is an arrest this month. Age 24. City, Amsterdam. The case name is ShinyHunters. The account they quote posts on X under Politie Landelijke Opsporing en Interventies, and the post was Monday. He is expected in front of a judge. The feed does not give me the date, so I am not inventing one.
Krebs describes a 23-year-old in the Netherlands, already convicted, suspected of helping the same group steal data and extort victims. After that arrest, Krebs says the remaining crew hit harder, including data taken from the FBI and pressure on the ransomware crew Cl0p. The ages do not match. I am leaving them as two reports.
